In Short
TERRA Glow Mask is an anhydrous powder formulation built around Dead Sea mud and white kaolin clay, alongside botanical actives including pomegranate ellagic acid, kojic acid, hydrolyzed pearl, and rosehip CO2. Activated at the moment of use by adding water, it delivers deep pore detoxification, gentle exfoliation, and visible brightening — without the preservatives or active degradation of pre-mixed clay masks.

The Philosophy
Activated at the
moment of use.
Pre-mixed clay masks begin degrading from the day they are bottled. The botanical extracts oxidise. The polyphenols break down. The formula requires multiple preservatives just to remain safe in its water phase.
A dry powder is the opposite. The actives stay sealed away from water, light, and air — until the moment you decide to mix it. This is the fresh-batch philosophy that defines Aphora, taken to its logical conclusion.
The Freshness Principle
Three Reasons This Format Matters
Zero Water
Until you add it.
The actives in TERRA Glow Mask are never exposed to water until the moment you mix it. No degradation. No oxidation. No wasted potency.
Zero Preservatives
Required by design.
A dry powder cannot support microbial growth. By keeping the formula anhydrous until use, the need for any preservation system is eliminated entirely.
Every Mask Fresh
Mixed at the moment.
Every application is, in the most literal sense, a freshly made mask — the same fresh-batch philosophy that defines Aphora, taken to its logical extreme.
The Science
Active Architecture
Ten botanical and mineral actives. Each chosen for measurable performance during a single ten-minute ritual.
Dead Sea Mud
Maris Limus
Mechanism. Mineral-rich silt from one of the most concentrated mineral bodies on earth — magnesium, calcium, potassium, and bromide. Documented detoxifying activity through ion exchange and adsorption of impurities, with mineral replenishment of the skin during application.
Outcome. Deep pore detoxification, mineral replenishment, and visible calming of inflammation.
White Kaolin
Kaolin Clay
Mechanism. A naturally occurring aluminium silicate with the gentlest absorption profile of any cosmetic clay. Lifts excess sebum and surface impurities without disturbing the skin's lipid barrier or natural pH.
Outcome. Gentle purification suitable for sensitive, reactive, and barrier-compromised skin.
Colloidal Oat
Avena sativa kernel flour
Mechanism. Contains avenanthramides — polyphenolic compounds with documented anti-inflammatory and itch-soothing activity. Recognised internationally as a dermatological skin protectant.
Outcome. Calms irritation, redness, and reactivity throughout the masking process.
Pomegranate (40% Ellagic Acid)
Punica granatum fruit extract
Mechanism. A concentrated source of ellagic acid — a polyphenol with documented protection against UV-induced oxidative stress, plus matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibition. MMPs are the enzymes that break down collagen with age.
Outcome. Antioxidant defence and biochemical support for collagen integrity.
Rosehip Botanical Extract
Rosa canina fruit extract
Mechanism. Concentrated carotenoid and trans-retinoic acid precursor profile — supplies the skin with retinoid-family nutrients in their native, non-irritating form, alongside high vitamin C content.
Outcome. Texture refinement, tone evenness, and visible brightening.
Ginkgo
Ginkgo biloba leaf extract
Mechanism. Contains flavone glycosides and terpene lactones — among the most studied botanical antioxidants for vascular and cellular protection. Shown to neutralise reactive oxygen species generated by UV and pollution.
Outcome. Free-radical neutralisation and protection against environmental ageing.
Aloe Vera
Aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder
Mechanism. Concentrated polysaccharide source — humectant and skin-soothing activity preserved in dehydrated form, then reactivated when the mask is mixed with water.
Outcome. Hydration and calm during and after the mask process.
Brightening Active
Kojic Acid
Mechanism. A naturally derived fungal metabolite that inhibits tyrosinase — the enzyme responsible for melanin synthesis in the skin's brightening pathway. Used in dermatology for tone evening and pigmentation support.
Outcome. Visible brightening and tone evening with continued use.
Conchiolin Amino Acid Complex
Hydrolyzed Pearl Powder
Mechanism. Calcium- and amino acid–rich marine extract that supports keratinocyte renewal and helps regulate melanin distribution in the upper epidermis.
Outcome. Soft-focus luminosity and brightening from the surface in.
Damask Rose
Rosa damascena flower powder
Mechanism. Dried Damask rose petals containing the natural phytochemicals of the rose — citronellol, geraniol, and the soothing properties of the bloom itself. Provides Aphora's signature aromatic identity.
Outcome. Aromatic sensory closure and gentle skin softening.
The Comparison
Why a Powder, Not a Pre-Mixed Mask
Two formats. Two very different approaches to active freshness.
| TERRA Glow Mask (Powder) | Pre-Mixed Clay Mask | |
|---|---|---|
| Active freshness | Sealed dry until the moment of use | Degrading from the day it's bottled |
| Preservatives | None required | Multiple preservatives needed |
| Microbial safety | A dry powder cannot grow microbes | Requires active preservation system |
| Customisation | You control consistency and frequency | Fixed formula, fixed application |
| Active shelf life | Years, sealed | Months, even unopened |
| Water source | Yours, fresh | Added at manufacture |
Positioning
The Weekly Reset
Where the daily Aphora ritual maintains the skin, the mask resets it. Once or twice a week, the slower ceremony of mixing, applying, waiting, and removing gives the skin — and the user — something the daily ritual cannot.
Depth. Attention. Time. Ten minutes of nothing else. This is what makes a ritual a ritual.

At Aphora Botanicals
The freshest mask
is the one you mix yourself.
We chose a powder format for TERRA Glow Mask because it is the only way to guarantee the actives are at full potency the moment they meet your skin. No preservatives. No degradation. No compromise — just the same fresh-batch philosophy that defines every Aphora formulation, taken to its purest expression.
The reusable bamboo cleansing pad is included not as a gift, but because the ritual is incomplete without it. Cleansing, applying, waiting, removing, polishing — every step is part of the reset.
Made for those who recognise the difference.
The Ritual
How to Use
- One
Mix the clay.
Place approximately 1 teaspoon of the powder in a small non-metal bowl. Slowly add no more than ¼ teaspoon of water (or rose hydrosol). Mix to a creamy mud consistency. For an enriched experience, add a few drops of jojoba oil.
- Two
Apply to clean, dry skin.
Using the provided Aphora mask brush, apply evenly across the face — avoiding the eye area. Begin with a clean, makeup-free, moisturiser-free canvas.
- Three
Wait 5–10 minutes.
Allow the mask to dry. You may feel a gentle tightening as the clay activates and begins drawing out impurities. For oily skin or a deeper cleanse, allow it to dry almost completely.
- Four
Remove with the bamboo pad.
Dampen the included bamboo cleansing pad with warm water, press it to the face to soften the mask, then gently remove using circular motions. Pat dry.
- Five
Continue your ritual.
Mist with Rose Tonic Mist while the skin is still damp, then apply RECOVERY (PM) and seal with Lumé.
After the Mask
Continue the Ritual
The mask resets. These are the steps that build on it.

Questions
What People Ask About TERRA Glow Mask
Because every active in the formula stays at peak potency until the moment you mix it with water. Pre-mixed clay masks begin degrading from the day they are bottled — the botanical extracts oxidise, the polyphenols break down, and the formula requires multiple preservatives to remain microbially safe in its water phase. A dry powder is the opposite. The actives are sealed away from water, light, and air. The mask is, in the most literal sense, freshly made every time you use it. This is the same fresh-batch philosophy that defines every Aphora formulation, taken to its logical conclusion.
For most skin types, once or twice a week is ideal. Where the daily Aphora ritual products (cleanse, tone, treat, moisturise) maintain the skin, the mask resets it. For oily or congested skin, twice weekly may be appropriate. For sensitive or barrier-compromised skin, once a week is sufficient — and listen to your skin. The mask should leave you feeling refreshed and soft, never tight or stripped.
Not when balanced correctly. The TERRA Glow Mask pairs Dead Sea mud (which is detoxifying) with kaolin (the gentlest cosmetic clay), colloidal oat (anti-inflammatory), and aloe vera powder (humectant). The result is a detoxifying experience that simultaneously hydrates and calms — the opposite of the parched, tight feeling associated with single-clay masks. For an even richer experience, our ritual instructions suggest adding a few drops of jojoba oil to the mix.
Yes — and we encourage it. The powder format gives you complete control over consistency and frequency. Our suggestions: add a few drops of jojoba oil for a richer, more nourishing experience; mix with rose hydrosol instead of water for added calming benefit; or adjust the ratio for a thicker (more detoxifying) or thinner (more hydrating) application. Always use a non-metal bowl and spoon, as metal can interact with some of the active mineral content.
Yes. The combination of kaolin (the gentlest clay), colloidal oat (a recognised dermatological skin protectant), aloe vera, and Damask rose makes TERRA Glow Mask suitable for sensitive and reactive skin. For very reactive or rosacea-prone skin, we recommend a shorter application time (5 minutes rather than 10) and patch testing first. The mask should never sting or burn — only gently tighten and pull as the clay activates.
TERRA Glow Mask is the weekly reset. The daily ritual — Rose Bloom & Balance to cleanse, Rose Tonic Mist to balance, PROTECT or RECOVERY to treat, Lumé to seal — maintains the skin every day. The mask is what you add once or twice a week to give the skin something deeper: time, attention, and a deliberate detoxification ritual. After removing the mask, return to your daily ritual: tone with Rose Tonic Mist, treat with RECOVERY (most commonly used in the evening), and seal with Lumé.
