Preservatives exist to prevent microbial growth in water-containing formulations; without water, there is nothing for microbes to grow in, and preservatives are structurally unnecessary. This is not a shortcut — it is the deliberate outcome of formulating a pure lipid-phase treatment. The rosemary CO2 extract included provides natural antioxidant protection for the oils themselves, preserving the potency of the unsaturated fatty acids.
Many of our customers have transitioned from retinol to Bakuchiol specifically because they could no longer tolerate retinol's side effects. Others alternate — retinol a few nights a week, Bakuchiol on the rest. Bakuchiol is not a direct pharmacological substitute, but it delivers the outcomes most people actually want from retinol (smoother texture, more even tone, supported collagen) without the downside. If you are currently using prescription-strength retinoids for a specific dermatological condition, do not substitute without speaking to your dermatologist.
Store away from direct sunlight and heat.
