Heart Chakra. Softness, given inward.

A floral, restorative composition — Bergamot, Egyptian Rose Geranium, Lavender, Dark Patchouli, and Pure Vanilla — built to soften the chest and quiet the nervous system at the end of a hard day.

In Short

Heart Chakra is the restorative profile. The blend is built around Egyptian Rose Geranium — one of the most-documented oils for emotional balance — paired with the parasympathetic shift of Lavender and a warm, vanilla-and-patchouli base. Composed across the candle, the bath, the body butter, and the gift set. The composition the body learns to associate with safety.

The Composition

Each oil, what it does.

Essential oils chosen for documented effect on the nervous system. Therapeutic dose. Never synthetic fragrance.

Top Note

Bergamot

Citrus bergamia

Mechanism. Cold-pressed Calabrian peel oil rich in linalyl acetate. One of the most-studied essential oils for reducing anxiety markers while lifting subjective mood.

Sensory. Bright, slightly bitter citrus opening. Reads as the chest beginning to lift.

Heart Note

Egyptian Rose Geranium

Pelargonium graveolens

Mechanism. Steam-distilled essential oil rich in citronellol and geraniol. Documented for its skin-balancing effect and its calming inhalation action on cortisol — used widely in emotional aromatherapy for balance and self-compassion.

Sensory. Soft floral with a green undertone. Reads as rose without the heaviness of rose absolute.

Heart Note

Lavender

Lavandula angustifolia

Mechanism. Linalool-rich essential oil with extensive clinical literature for cortisol reduction, improved sleep onset, and subjective relaxation.

Sensory. Herbaceous floral. Rounds the rose, softens the citrus.

Base Note

Dark Patchouli

Pogostemon cablin

Mechanism. Aged dark patchouli (not pale). Patchoulol-rich; documented in aromatherapy for emotional grounding and mood stabilisation. Anchors the floral heart.

Sensory. Earthy, slightly sweet, smoky. The note that gives the composition gravity.

Base Note

Pure Vanilla

Vanilla planifolia

Mechanism. Real vanilla bean extract rather than synthetic vanillin. Vanillin in its natural matrix is associated with reduced startle response and lower stress markers — a primal cue of safety.

Sensory. Deep, resinous vanilla. Reads as held, not iced.

The Restorative Ritual

Three steps for the days that took something.

  1. One

Light the candle, dim the lights.

The 13oz Heart Chakra candle on the bath shelf or the bedside, an hour before sleep. Most useful after a difficult conversation, a long-week Sunday, or any day that asked too much.

  2. Two

    Soak deeply in the bath.

Heart Chakra's bath is for collapse, not clarity. Warm water rather than hot; the rose and lavender deepen the parasympathetic shift the salts begin. Twenty minutes — phone elsewhere.

  3. Three

    Body butter as the close.

Apply post-bath while the skin is still slightly damp. Massage into the chest and shoulders in slow circles — the places the day was held. The composition lingers softly into sleep.

At Aphora Botanicals

Care given inward, not projected outward.

Heart Chakra was named for the energetic centre traditionally associated with self-compassion. The brief wasn't to smell like rose — it was to feel like care.

Egyptian Rose Geranium for emotional balance. Lavender for parasympathetic shift. Patchouli and vanilla for grounded warmth. Bergamot to keep the floral from feeling closed. Used as a layered ritual, the four-piece set is what we built for the hardest evenings.

Made for those who recognise the difference.
